Newt Scamander Film Casting, Cast and Cameos

Yes you are right about Newt, but I still think the cast will be mostly non British actors & actresses .
The only flashbacks I can think of that could include British sets & cast would be if Newt was shown at Hogwarts as a kid or perhaps at the MoM later when he worked there .

I would not be surprised in the slightest if Harry Potter stars were forced into the narrative of this thing - I'd be frustrated by it, though. This needs to be its own thing inasmuch as it can be its own thing.

Well, they may shoehorn characters in, whether they get the actors from the original movies is another matter altogether.

And in that timeline the only familiar characters from the movies that I can think of would be the younger Dumbledore brothers. Phineas Black is a possibility but I don't recall his portrait having been cast in a movie.

Slughorn would have been a young man in the 1920's So would Mrs Marchbanks and the Witch that lived in Godrics Hollow when Dumbledore was living there .

Bathilda Bagshot and the other old wizards Harry met at Bill & Fleur's wedding certainly lived in the 1920's. But I think none of the important HP characters will be there.

Dedalus Diggle would have been a young man in the twenties he might be a possible cameo.

I wonder if they could get Daniel Radcliffe to play Harry's Grandfather as a young man? he could be one of Newts school mates.

I think it would take a lot to get Daniel Radcliffe back. A he said at last year's Toronto Film Festival: 'I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you all if it weren't for Harry Potter...But I don't particularly miss it. I'm very happy doing other things now.'

I have to disagree. I think he's worked really, really hard to distance himself from the role of Harry Potter. I think maybe in 20 years he'd do a cameo (like the new Star Wars movies with Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill coming back) but not anytime soon.

I'm on a bit of a Cilian Murphy binge lately, after Peaky Blinders. I'd also love to see Martin Freeman in it, since he's awesome in everything.

I was actually just thinking about how perfect Martin Freeman would be for it, but I have my doubts he would want to sink his teeth into another trilogy.

Murphy would be nice, too.

Well its nice to finally be hearing some casting rumours. Apparently Eddie Redmayne is a possibility for the title role of Newt. It's awesome that this film is able to attract one of the hottest stars in the world right now.
