Could this forum be transferred to a Facebook page or group? It seems forums like these are now dated and not getting any interaction.

I like the idea somehow. But I believe even after the major prune a few years ago, it's still too huge to getting transfered in, dunno, a similar style. But maybe a new look would do the trick?

Cosforums was short to close a few years ago. Then there was a last minute interaction by Mugglenet asking the owner to not close it, and there we are still, though.

Personally, I come here because it's NOT Facebook. It's its own contained thing with people who are hardcore fans. And it's simpler. Facebook is just too much noise. I just couldn't with Facebook anymore, so I actually deleted mine. I come here every once in a while in the hopes that it's relatively active. It's usually not, but I'll continue to check in.

I was always more of a lurker so I never posted a lot. I'm in a couple of Facebook groups/pages that are very active and I was thinking about an HP group. That led to me to wonder about good ole COSFORUMS. Honestly forums like these just don't seem to be part of the next generation. Most of the ones I frequented 3-5 years ago are dwindling. I know the closing hurt this group.

Just a thought though...guess I'll go check for HP groups on Facebook or start visiting here more often.

I heard the last time there was real danger of closure and then the forums survived. I'm down mostly to lurking status, but I have a lot of great memories here and hope that once again news of its demise is exaggerated.

I'm sorry to see how the forums have become. I met a lot of people through here including my now wife.

I'm not sure how many CoS weddings there have been but it is at least one, plus two CoS children!

I still remember the excitement of getting into Hogsmeade. At the time I had severe depression - now diagnosed as bipolar - and a difficult home life with a violent, alcoholic father. CoS was almost a ray of light that kept me going and, bearing in mind subsequent suicide attempts, kept me alive.

No matter how terrible life was, you could come on here and lose yourself for a while. Just as the HP books were a place to escape from the horrible grip of depression. Albeit on a terrible 56k modem which took forever to load a page!

It will be sad to see the forums go, if they do. I would love it if there was one last meet up, old and new, people so different but united by their love of one of the most enchanting stories ever told.

I'm a bit late to say so, but thanks for your kind and warm words. I know I feel very much the same to many regards having entered as ickle firstie rather late in HP life. These years were extraordinary, the support of the CoS members awesome and many friendships still exist in 'this life out there'.
