I made a social group about the show Mock the Week, because I couldn't find another one. Is that OK, or did I miss a group and make a duplicate?

It is fine. Even if there was a duplicate, you could still make your own group.

Ok so... I am looking around and I can't seem to figure it out -- how can I start joining social groups?

Click Wizarding World at the top of the page, then Social Groups, then click open the group you are interested in and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Join Group.

For some groups you need an invitation to be able to join.

oh ok, thank you. I just didn't see the "join group" at the bottom because of the color scheme, light blue background bar with yellow lettering

I just checked through all our skins and the DH UK skin seems to be the only one having that problem. You have to hover over that bar to see them clearly.

Hi, I've noticed very recently that several of the Social Groups that were connected with the 2008 (?) MoM elections from 'way back before I joined the board have become more active again. Is there going to be another election soon? Is that something that CoS does every other year? Or is the Staff too busy with the Hallows Contest do campaigns and elections at the moment?

The MoM elections was a one-time activity that the staff ran to coincide with the U.S. Elections. We don't have any plans to bring it back right now.

If you go to the social group, there should be a "join group" option at the top right corner. Some of the skins make it difficult to see this option. Just click "join group", hit "yes", and you should be all set. Let me know if you still need assistance.

I'm sure this has been asked before. But the option to "join group" is not showing up for me. I've even had a request, yet can't find a way to join. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If it's an invite only group you can't join without an invitation and if it's a moderated group your request has to be approved or you should have an invitation before you can join.

Without knowing what group you wanted to join, I can't help you more than that.

If Alastor's suggestion isn't the problem, it might be the skin you're using; in some skins, the options are difficult to see. The "join" button should be near the bottom of the page, and my suggestion is to select all text on the page and scroll down and see if you can see the "join" option.

I had this same problem, I spent a long time trying to accept the invite, you should try and fix this, specially since the default skin is the one with the problem and new people like me might get confused.

I have been sorted into my house and it keeps telling me to accept what house i've been sorted into and I don't know how and it won't let me access it? How do I accept it?
